Academy of Global Innovation

Concord Middle School will launch the new Academy of Global Innovation in the Fall of 2026, a magnet program designed to strengthen student experience, redefine the school’s identity, and create advanced academic pathways. This one-of-a-kind program connects the elementary feeder school’s STEM foundation with the International Baccalaureate and CTE pathways at Concord High, giving students early access to advanced coursework and unique learning experiences. Participants potentially earn up to four high school credits in subjects such as Computer Science, Civics, Spanish I, and Math I, allowing more flexibility for future academic pursuits. Centered on innovation and problem-based learning and utilizing AI and other innovative tools, the Academy aims to position Concord Middle as a leader in preparing globally minded, future-ready students.

2025-26 Calendar Update

2025-26 Calendar Update

Cabarrus County Schools has adjusted the 2025-26 academic calendar for traditional schools to conclude one day earlier in an effort to avoid emergency services scheduling conflicts between CCS graduation ceremonies and the NASCAR race weekend in Concord. The last day of school for traditional school students has been moved one day earlier to Wednesday, May 20, 2026. The original last day of school was Thursday, May 21, 2026. Adjusting the calendar will allow traditional high school graduations to occur on Wednesday, May 20, Thursday, May 21, and Friday, May 22nd, and avoid the originally scheduled Saturday graduation date.

Cabarrus County Board of Education Policy 4318 Student Use of Electronic Devices states that students in middle school are not allowed to utilize electronic devices from arrival on campus through afternoon dismissal. Students are required to power off and securely store their cell phones away from their person throughout the school day. Students engaged in after-school activities will have access to their electronic devices for communicating with parents/guardians.

  • We use ParentSquare for school communication, primarily with email, text and app notifications which allows district, school administrators and teachers to more effectively communicate and engage with families and students. ParentSquare automatically generates an account for each parent using their preferred email address and phone number.

We encourage parents to access their accounts so they can download the mobile app and update their preferences, including when and how they receive notifications.

ParentSquare is a safe, secure, and modern approach to communication and collaboration between school and home. Learn more about ParentSquare.

  • Edulog is an app that lets parents view the location of their student's school bus to gauge arrival times each day. The app sends a push notification to the parent's smartphone when the bus enters a user-defined geographic area around the stop. Parents only receive access by registering with data unique to their child. It's all information to help parents feel secure about their child's trip on the school bus!
