Dr. Adam Auerbach

Principal

Dr. Auerbach is originally from Florida and graduated with a BA in Elementary Education from the University of Florida in 1998. He began teaching in NC during the 1999–2000 school year at Mallard Creek Elementary (CMS). In 2002, he moved to Cabarrus County and helped open Cox Mill Elementary. He holds master’s degrees in Elementary Education and School Administration from UNC Charlotte. In 2005, he became an assistant principal at Weddington Hills Elementary and helped open Cox Mill High School in 2009 as assistant principal. In 2011, he earned his Ed.D. in Educational Leadership from Wingate University and was named principal at Wolf Meadow Elementary. He was CCS Principal of the Year (2014–2015) and Regional NC Principal of the Year (SW Region, 2015), later serving as principal at Concord High School (2016) and again CCS Principal of the Year (2021–2022). Dr. Auerbach was named principal at Concord Middle School in June 2025. His wife Anna teaches at Coltrane Webb STEM Elementary and sons Alec and Axel attend Concord Middle School.

Mr. Edward Bui

Assistant Principal

Hello Miners! I’m thrilled to enter my second full year at Concord Middle School. I earned a B.S. in Secondary Education from the University of Maine and a Master’s in Educational Administration from the University of South Carolina. After 11 years of teaching and coaching in New Hampshire and South Carolina, I moved into administration and have served as an assistant principal for the last six years. Outside of school, I enjoy history, sports, and traveling with my wife, Alicia, and our son, Ollie. My main responsibilities are 6th Grade Administrator, Facilities, and Safety. I look forward to another great year together—please reach out any time.

Mrs. Megan Wingfield

Assistant Principal

 

I’m excited to be at Concord Middle School as the 8th Grade Administrator and am proud to be a former Concord Middle student myself. I earned a Bachelor of Science in History from Liberty University and a Master of Arts in Teaching after spending several years working in public history. I began my career teaching at Concord Middle before moving to Concord High School, where I taught history and helped lead the IB Program. Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my husband and three boys, traveling, hiking, and being outdoors. In addition to serving as the 8th grade assistant principal, I also support our Academy of Global Innovation, testing, and instructional resources in the building. I’m grateful for the opportunity to continue serving the Concord community I care so deeply about.

Mr. Brandon Wilson

Assistant Principal

Miner Family! I am blessed to have joined Concord Middle School. Middle school is my passion, and I want to learn and grow together with you. Before joining the Miner Family, I worked in the technology division of Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools and previously taught science at Harold E. Winkler and Jay M. Robinson here in Concord. I’m originally from Gastonia and enjoy fishing, bowling, cooking, traveling, and trying new restaurants. I earned a B.S. in Middle Grades Education from Western Carolina University (“Go Cats!”) and completed two graduate programs at UNC Charlotte in Technology and School Administration. I’m pursuing a doctorate in organizational leadership at UNC Chapel Hill and also serve as an adjunct instructor at UNCC.  This school year, I am the administrator over 7th grade, Encore, buses, field trips, spelling bee, MTSS, and PBIS.  Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have questions or concerns.

Ms. Janice Witherspoon

Assistant Principal

A South Carolina native, Ms. Witherspoon holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Humanities and Social Science from Morris College and a Master of Arts degree in Education Theory and Practice from The Ohio State University. She received her School Administration Add-on Licensure from Wingate University in 1990. Ms. Witherspoon began her teaching career in New York before returning home to the Carolinas to become a classroom teacher at Wolf Meadow Elementary. A dedicated educator, Ms. Witherspoon has served as Lead Mentor, Summer School administrator, member of the School Improvement Team, and Engagement Facilitator during her years in Cabarrus County Schools. She was recognized as the Wolf Meadow Teacher of the Year in 2002-2003 and 2013-2014. Ms. Witherspoon excitedly joined the Spider Family at Concord High School as an Assistant Principal in 2017. Ms. Witherspoon looks forward to working with all members of the Concord Middle School family in order to positively impact the students and school community. Ms. Witherspoon will be an administrator for all three grade levels.
