Cabarrus County Schools Parent/Student/Teacher/Administrator Compact
Concord Middle School
This compact is an agreement between all parties listed below. It defines the roles and responsibilities of each person involved in the education process in an effort to foster the student’s ability for maximum achievement. This is a covenant between key stakeholders to provide for the social, behavioral, and academic needs of the students that attend Concord Middle School.
As a PARENT/GUARDIAN, I want my child to achieve their utmost potential; therefore, I will encourage them to do the following:
● Attend school everyday on time
● Establish a routine for nightly reading with limited distractions
● Monitor my child’s progress through PowerSchool Parent Portal and alert their teacher immediately when I notice problems.
● Attend key school events.
● Be responsible for school materials, including technology, library books.
● Adhere to academic and behavior policies, procedures, and expectations.
I welcome the fact that I will receive information from teachers and staff at Concord Middle regarding my child. I also welcome the right to request information regarding my child and their teacher at any time.

As a STUDENT, I want to work to the best of my ability. I will strive to:
● Be at school each day, on-time, ready to learn, and participate in all activities.
● Monitor my progress through PowerSchool Portal and alert my teacher immediately when I notice problems.
● Respect and cooperate with all adults and all students.
● Create goals with my family and work with them to achieve these goals
● I will read at home each night, and complete homework.
● Ask for help from my teacher and family when needed.
● Be responsible for school materials, including technology, library books.
● Use technology for school-based assignments only.
● Adhere to academic and behavior policies, procedures, and expectations.

As a TEACHER, I want all students to be successful: therefore, I will:
● Hold all students accountable to achieve high growth and demonstrate positive behavior.
● Provide for the individualized needs of all students through progress monitoring.
● Know the content of my grade level and utilize provided curriculum documents.
● Build a relationship with each family and keep them informed of their child’s needs and progress in each subject
● Provide parents with resources and materials to utilize with their child at home.
● Provide communication to families: weekly communication through Canvas/ website, monthly grade level newsletters, Remind App communication.
● Maintain Parent Communication Log.
● Update PowerSchool grades weekly.
● Adhere to academic and behavior policies, procedures, and expectations.

As an ADMINISTRATOR, I support the philosophy of the home and school working together. I will:
● Hold staff accountable for having high expectations and demonstrating positive/appropriate behavior for all students.
● Ensure all students have equal access to high quality curriculum.
● Challenge staff to create a superior learning environment through effective small group instruction and engaging classroom activities.
● Encourage staff to extend learning beyond the classroom.
● Involve parents in the decision-making process: School Improvement Team, Specialized Student Learning Plans, MTSS meetings.
● Strategically use Title 1 resources.
● Create a balanced environment that supports high achievement for students and a supportive community for teachers.
● Adhere to academic and behavior policies, procedures, and expectations.
